"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may
discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect" (Romans 12:2, NRSV).
There are a variety of ways to grow in the Christian faith at Wooster Mennonite Church. Several of these include the adult Sunday school classes that meet on Sunday mornings. Each of these classes offers a community and study plan for going deeper into Scripture, prayer, and relationship with God. The following classes meet regularly on Sunday mornings:
Young Adults Class
The young adult class meets in the fellowship center. Corrently they are using the "Nooma" video series by Rob Bell. Each
week explores a new topic related to the Christian life. Doug Yoder & Joe Hartman are the teachers of this class.
Comparative of the Four Gospels Class
The comparative of the four gospels class is an intergenerational group that explores the life and teachings of Jesus with special attention to the unique perspectives of each of the gospel writers. This class gathers in the meeting room in the basement. Roger Baur is the teacher of this class.
Intergenerational Class
The intergenerational class explores the story of Christ in the gospel readings from the revised common lectionary. Each class opens with prayer and focuses on understanding who Jesus was as well as the content of His message. Special attention is given at the end of each class to applying the Jesus' teachings and example to our life in the twenty-first century. Jacob Dodson and Jim Hartman teach this class.
Foundation Series Class
The foundation series class walks through many of the important stories of the bible from the Anabaptist perspective. The teacher is John Rugani.
