Children's Education

“Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs” (Matt. 19:14, NRSV).

Children are the bright future of our world. We feel blessed that our congregation is a spiritual home to many young families with children.

Children's education is a priority for our church. We offer a weekly Sunday School curriculum that involves an overview of major Bible stories through an interactive format. Typically our classes rotate through various stations, each of which offers activities coordinating with a broader theme for the day. Our children's Sunday school classes begin at 9:30 am on Sunday.

In addition, we offer an annual vacation Bible school in June. The themes vary from year to year (though they always relate to stories in the Bible). The location is usually at Camp Luz.

Specific children's classes offered at our church include:

2 Year Old Class

The 2 year old class is taught by Esther Hershberger & Kim Hartman. This group meets in the basement classrooms.

3 Years Old through Grade 2 Class

The 3 year old through grade 2 class is taught by Cindy Bay & Leona Horst. This group meets in the basement classrooms.

Grade 3 to Grade 12 Class

The grade 3 to grade 12 class is taught by Steve Schmid & Pete Johnson. This group meets upstairs in the old MYF room.
